Everything you need to know before your stay.

Check-in is from 1:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. We need this time between guests to prepare your bell tent to the highest standard. If you would like a later check-out, you can add our Slow Morning package (noon checkout) for £25, subject to availability.
Each bell tent sleeps a maximum of 2 adults. Fieldroot Retreat is an adults-only site — we do not accommodate children of any age, and no pets are permitted. This is a deliberate choice to preserve the quiet, peaceful atmosphere for all our guests.
WiFi availability is limited and deliberately so. We have a basic connection for emergencies, but we encourage you to disconnect during your stay. There is no TV in the bell tents. Mobile signal varies by provider but is generally reasonable. We find that most guests appreciate the digital detox once they settle in.
Every stay begins with a complimentary welcome hamper containing Yorkshire tea, ground coffee, fresh milk, local jam, butter, artisan biscuits, granola bars, and a few other treats. We source as much as possible from local producers. If you have dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.
We provide all bedding, towels, toiletries, and kitchen essentials. We recommend bringing:
  • Warm layers and a waterproof jacket
  • Comfortable walking shoes or boots
  • A torch for after dark
  • A good book
  • Binoculars if you enjoy birdwatching
  • Any food or drink you would like beyond the welcome hamper
You can add extras such as breakfast hampers, BBQ boxes, celebration packages, and campfire kits during the booking process or by emailing us at hello@fieldrootretreat.co.uk at least 48 hours before your arrival. See our full range of extras and add-ons.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
  • 8+ weeks before arrival: Full refund minus a £25 administration fee
  • 4–8 weeks before arrival: 50% refund
  • 2–4 weeks before arrival: 25% refund
  • Less than 2 weeks before arrival: No refund

We strongly recommend booking travel insurance. If we are able to re-let your dates, we will do our best to offer an alternative or credit.

Yes. Free parking is provided right next to your bell tent. There is space for one vehicle per bell tent. If you need additional parking, please let us know in advance and we will arrange it.
Our bell tents are accessed via a short grass and gravel path. The bell tents have a small step at the entrance. Inside, the layout is on a single level with no internal steps. The shower room is a step-in wet room. While we have done our best to make the site as accessible as possible, it may not be suitable for all mobility needs. Please contact us at hello@fieldrootretreat.co.uk to discuss your requirements and we will be honest about what we can accommodate.
Absolutely — that is what they are there for. Each bell tent has its own private firepit with outdoor seating. We ask that you only use the designated firepit area and never leave a fire unattended. Kiln-dried logs and kindling are available to purchase, or you can add our Campfire Kit or S'mores Kit as an extra when you book. Please do not bring your own wood, as non-kiln-dried logs can harbour tree diseases.
