Most people think glamping is a summer thing. We think they're missing out on the best bit.
There's something about arriving at a bell tent when the air is sharp and cold, closing the door behind you, and feeling the warmth wrap around you. The heating is on, the fairy lights are glowing, and outside the sky is doing things it simply doesn't do in July.
The Skies Are Extraordinary
Winter in East Yorkshire means proper darkness. No long summer twilight — by 5pm the sky is ink-black and the stars are out. On a clear December night, you can see the Milky Way stretching overhead from your firepit. Orion, the Pleiades, Jupiter — they're all there, sharp and bright in a way you'll never see from a city garden.
The Firepits Come Alive
A firepit in summer is lovely. A firepit in winter is essential. There's a primal satisfaction in building a fire when the temperature drops — the crack of kindling, the first curl of smoke, the way the flames make everything beyond their circle disappear. Add our S'mores Kit and a clear sky, and you've got an evening you won't forget.
Everything is Quieter
The countryside in winter is a different place. The hedgerows are bare, the fields are still, and the only sound is the wind and the odd pheasant. It's the kind of quiet that lets you actually think. Or not think at all — which is rather the point.
The Rates Are Kinder
Our low season rates start from £90 per night. The same bell tent, the same firepit, the same stars — just with an extra blanket and a flask of something warm.
What to Bring
Warm layers, thick socks, a good hat, and a willingness to sit outside even when it's cold. A hip flask is optional but strongly encouraged. We provide the heating, the blankets, and the welcome hamper — you just need to arrive.
